St Patrick’s Technical College today celebrated the commissioning on four new leaders.
Alicia Phay and Cameron Anderson have been elected as College Captains and Danni Lehmann and Ryan Binyon were elected Vice-Captains for 2018/19.
A special liturgy led by Fr Pat Woods from the Elizabeth Parish was held to celebrate the new leaders and wish them all the best for the coming year.
Principal Danny Deptula thanked 2017/18 leaders Lachlan Osborne, Santiago Bribiesca Diaz and Declan Caldow for their contributions to the College community over the past 12 months.
Mr Deptula said Lachlan and Santiago, in particular, being campus-based students, had stepped up into the role of leader with great grace and confidence.
He congratulated Alicia (IT student), Cameron (Automotive student), Ryan (Construction student) and Danni (Hair & Beauty student) for their appointments. A large number of students put their hands up to be leaders and the decision was made based on votes from staff and students as well as a formal interview with the College Leadership team.
“I look forward to working with your new leaders who take on the role of raising the profile of the College and representing the student body. We want to work with students to make St Patrick’s Technical College even better,’’ Mr Deptula said.
Following the liturgy and assembly a morning tea was held for the new leaders and their families.
